30-in-30 Challenge – Days 15-17

So I’ve been a slacker about posting these the past few days, but I have kept up and done days 15, 16, and 17.

Day 15 was actually done on Thursday, but I’m just now getting the photo and editing done.  I packed up some supplies and took my work to work with me, painting a section at breaks and lunchtime.  I also used my crappy pan watercolors which take to the paper differently than my regular ones, but it’s okay.  This piece is a case of my idea looking a lot better in my head than it did on the paper.

Day 16 was started yesterday but I finished it earlier today.  I was trying some different things on this and ended up liking the end results, although I would do a few things in a different order next time.  Mostly the white ink.  I did the lines and then went back to add some darker areas to the purple, which was backwards.  It’s still fine though.

Day 16 – Purple Flowers

Day 17 was my attempt to take the technique I worked with for “Purple Flowers” and use it on a slightly larger piece.  It wasn’t quite as successful but I still like it enough to want to keep trying to refine what I’m doing.  This is the third untitled piece I have, which isn’t too bad considering how I have a tough time coming up with titles.

For tomorrow’s piece, I’m going to go back to gouache for a bit.  I have a plan. 😉
