Sunset (Sun and Moon series)
SunsetWatercolor and pen on paper, 7.5″ x 9″ I was thrilled with out this one turned out, especially that night sky. I hadn’t worked with salt on wet paper in a while and it took a few tries to get what I was looking for.

This started out as an idea to just do floating circles against a blue water/wave background. It ended up like this. Abstract Pink CirclesWatercolor on watercolor paper, 7.5″ x 9″

Companion pieces for the Sun and Moon series. I’d been doing both for a bit but specifically did these two as a pair. “Sun”Watercolor and pen on watercolor paper7.5 x 9 “Moon”Watercolor and pen on watercolor paper7.5 x 9

This started out as an abstract flower and grew from there. I added the swoopy parts to fill up more of the space and like how they look, although I might do them in a darker shade of green if I were redoing this. Gouache and pen on watercolor paper, 5″ x 7″ on 7.5″ […]

Something simple for this one – smiling happy sun shining on a springtime tree. I fancied up the border on a whim an while I like it, I want to start planning the border to be a part of the image more. Gouache and pen on watercolor paper, 5″ x 7″ on 7.5″ x 9″ […]

And here is the first of the alien portraits with the lines done in pen before adding color. I think this ends up looking much more finished and complete than not doing the lines and this particular alien is one of my favorites. Watercolor and pen on watercolor paper, 7 x 9.

And here we have Alien Portrait #4. This is the last one I did without using pen on the lines to make them stand out more. These first four portraits turned out fine but I’ve decided I really like the punch of doing the lines and then coloring. Watercolor on watercolor paper, 7″ x 9″
